New leadership of LIME: from Erica Smithwick, EESI Director:
“I am excited to announce to the broader EESI community that Kim Lau has agreed to assume the role of LIME Director. In this capacity, Kim will be taking on the administrative and supervisory roles of LIME management and working to expand LIME’s impact across campus and with external users and partners. Kim’s research focuses on paleoceanography and sedimentary geochemistry, using cutting edge isotopic methodologies. Leveraging her approach to research innovation in the environmental and Earth sciences, Kim is eager to maintain and grow LIME’s success within EESI, EMS, and beyond.
In addition, Matt Fantle will be taking on a new leadership role in LIME as Scientific Director. Matt brings extensive institutional and scientific expertise to LIME instrumentation and methodologies. He will be helping to manage lab spaces and instruments, interface with OPP, lead safety efforts, and collaborate with Kim on expanding LIME’s impact and sustainability.”
