Equipment:
Dionex™ ICS-2100 Integrated IC System with Electrolytic Eluent Generation and Auto-Sampler.
Location: 309 Hosler Building
Description: Dionex™ ICS-2100 ion chromatography system equipped with an IonPac AS18 4×250 mm anion exchange column and an IonPac AG18 4×50 mm guard column.
Run conditions for anion separation (F, Cl, SO4, Br, NO3): 39 mM KOH eluent, isocratic run (eluent concentration is the same throughout run).
Total run time: ~12 minutes per sample.
Estimated detection limits for anions by ion chromatography (IC)
Fluoride 0.02 ppm
Chloride 0.02 ppm
Bromide 0.01 ppm
Nitrate 0.03 ppm
Sulfate 0.05 ppm
Sample preparation and requirements: See information on sample preparation services provided by LIME and sample requirements. Contact IC analyst prior to sample drop-off to ensure that your samples meet requirements.
Request analysis: Samples may be submitted to LIME’s IC laboratory for analysis by navigating to the Request analysis page and clicking on the ‘Submit’ button.
Click on this link to review sample labeling requirements.
Training: Student researchers and faculty who may be interested in training on instrument operation and data interpretation, please contact the IC analyst to schedule training and time on the instrument. While the number of training hours may vary, depending on the student’s knowledge and analytical skills, we require a minimum of 4 training hours prior to allowing the student to independently operate the instrument.
