Update to LIME website and sample submission form [2025-05]

Dear LIME users:

There are a few items of which we would like users to be aware —

    1. Data conversion page: https://lime.psu.edu/dataconversions/
      • Contains examples for one-step & two-step serial dilutions, and conversions from wt. % oxide to ppm and wt. % element. Please have a look.
    2. Update to sample submission form: the email for the research advisor is now a required item on the sample submission form, replacing the advisor’s name.
      • This was a requested feature so that advisors are informed of sample submission requests. Advisors will also have the sample submission ID # in the email sent out, so that they can refer to specific submissions.
      • Please make sure that you enter a complete email address in this field when you complete the form, or the workflow will fail.
      • We are sorry if this adds to advisors’ email burden, but we feel that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. All emails will have [LIME] in the subject line; if you set up a filter, you can move this out of your in-box automatically and keep it for reference.
    3. FAQ page: Don’t forget that we have an informative FAQ page on the website (https://lime.psu.edu/frequently-asked-questions-faqs/). Skim this so that you know what is posted there. If you have additional questions you would like addressed, fill out the form at the top of the FAQ page.

If you have any comments on the data conversion page, whose purpose is to assist users with making dilution corrections and unit conversions, please email Matt (msf17 at psu dot edu).
